The history of the Kurala Manor begins in 1769. The first owners were Johannes Henrikinpoika (born 1st December 1700) and his wife Liisa Johanneksentytär (born 1740/died 1779). The current owners, Matti Koivisto and Laura Naire-Koivisto have lived in Kurala since the beginning of 2010. Other family members include daughter Pihla, born in October 2009, a smooth collie Hilpi and three outdoor young cats called Nökö, Laku and Jyty.
